TODAY: EASTER: The essential information about Jesus’ resurrection is His empty tomb.  Mary Magdalene and two other women testified to this when they arrived at the tomb early in the morning.  Their testimony is confirmed by two apostles: Peter and John who, at Mary Magdalene’s insistence, came to the tomb where they were convinced that the tomb was truly empty.  “The other disciple” whom Jesus loved in a special way entered the tomb and saw the wrappings laying down and folded neatly.  This made him believe that the Lord is raised.  “He saw and believed”… the Scripture says about him.  Later, they saw Jesus many times.

He was sitting with them and eating with them.  They touched Him, placed their hands into His wounds, and none of them, not even Thomas, had any doubt that Jesus is truly raised up.  The opened empty tomb and the huge stone which was moved from the entrance of the tomb are proof that death is conquered, that its chains were broken and that life is victorious.  Our faith, therefore, is not only the faith in immortal soul, but also contains the resurrection of body and soul in Jesus Christ.  John also saw Him first while Jesus was with His disciples in the boat.  It seems that it was because of his love toward Him.  Love helps faith, because while others saw nothing, he saw and believed.  He saw Jesus with his eyes of faith and love.  That kind of faith reaches farther than bodily eyes.  By resurrecting Jesus from the dead our Heavenly Father glorified His Son.  By doing so, He placed His seal on the act of Redemption which began in the Incarnation and ended on the Cross.  By His rising Jesus is placed for the Son of God, for the Lord and the Messiah, the Leader and Savior, judge of the living and the dead.  Full of divine power, He creates to Himself a holy nation which He leads in His foot-steps.

Ona potpomaže vjeru, jer dok drugi ništa ne vide, on vidi i vjeruje. . . Pun božanske moće, on stvara sebi narod svet koga vodi svojim stopama.
