TODAY, 4th  SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME: Jesus faithfully participated in the religious life of His contemporaries, the Israelites.  He also went to the synagogue and to Jerusalem, where He participated in holy worship and offering of sacrifices.  And everywhere He went He preached: “as one having authority, not as the Scribes.”  He preached in the temple in Jerusalem when He was twelve years old and held intelligent discussions with the Scribes.  All who listened to Him admired His wisdom and knowledge.  St. Luke wrote:  “Jesus was in the temple every day and in synagogues.”  “Jesus continued His tour in all towns and villages.  He taught in their synagogues.” (Mt 9, 35).  Jesus also taught in the open, at sea, at Jacob’s well and in various homes.  As the teacher He taught always with great authority.  “You have only one Teacher.” (Mt 23,8).  OR: “You have heard that it was said: “an eye for an eye!”   But what I say to you is: “Offer no resistance to injury.”  And again: “heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.”  Only Jesus knows the Father; not that anyone has seen the Father --- only the One who is from God has seen the Father.” (John 6, 46).  Or at another place: “I speak what I heard from my Father.”  Jesus continues with Sacred Scripture: “Have you not read that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female and declared: ‘For this reason man shall leave his father and mother and cling to his wife, and the two shall become as one.  Therefore let no man separate what God has joined’.  Jesus’ teaching is above Sacred Scriptures; He perfects the Old Testament.  “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law and the prophet.  I have come not to abolish them, but to fulfill them.”  His heavenly Father confirms the truthfulness of Jesus’ teachings.  The Father’s voice was heard (at Transfiguration): “This is my beloved Son on whom my favor rests.  Listen to Him.”   We have to say with St. Peter: “Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.”  (John 6, 68).

DANAS, 4. NEDJELJA KROZ GODINU:  Isus je vjerno sudjelovao u religioznom životu svojih suvremenika Izralaca.  Revno polazi u sinagogu. Luka (19, 47).  Isus je poučavao i u sinagogama: «Isus je obilazio sve gradove i sela.  Učio je u tamošnjim sinagogama, propovijedao radosnu Vijest o kraljevstvu i liječio svaku slabost i bolest.»  (Mt 9, 35).  Isus je učio pod vedrim nebom: uz obalu genezaretskom jezera na Jakovljevu zdencu Samarjanki otkriva tajne svoga kraljevstva i tajnu milosti. (Iv 4).  Učio je po kućama, kako svjedoči Marko.  Isus kao naučitelj nastupa uvijek s velikim autoritetom.  «Imate samo jednog Učitelja.»  (Mt 23, 8). (Iv 8, 38).  Isus nadalje nadovezuje svoju nauku na Sv. Pismo, Zakon i proroke. (Lk 24, 27). (Iv 6, 68).

MESSAGE FROM MEDJUGORJE JANUARY 25TH

Dear children!  also today I call you to prayer.  May prayer be for you like the seed that you will put in my heart, which I will give over to my Son Jesus for you, for the salvation of your souls.  I desire, little children, for each of you to fall in love withy eternal life which is your future, and for all worldly things to be a help for you to draw you closer to God the Creator.  I am with you for this long because you are on the wrong path.  Only with my help,  little children, you will open your eyes.  There are many of those who, by living my messages, comprehend that they are on the way of holiness towards eternity.  thank you for having responded to my call.”  BVM
