TODAY: 15th
Sunday of Ordinary Time: The first Christian communities, in their own
way, were explaining the Lord’s parable about “the seed”. Many of them were coming to the faith and
accepting the Word. But motives and reasons
were different. The Conversion was
first of all the work of grace and inner enlightenment. But because God is not forcing everyone, He
respects man’s free choice (freedom), and man himself must answer the offered
grace. He must cooperate with it. The expectation of the Second Coming and the
persecutions as well. The early Church
was more readiy to accept the Word and live by it. They were not hard hearted.
The Lord’s parables of the Seed and Sower is relevant even today. We are to take His Word seriously. The Divine Sower is passing by us and is
throwing the seed of His Word at us. If
that seed falls on good soil, if we accept His Word readily and put it into our
daily living, we will become co-workers of a new creation. Then we will not wonder why He is throwing
His seed so abundantly: on rocky ground, thistles and the road. God’s Word followed by our cooperation can
blossom in the desert and can spring up on rocky ground because nothing is
impossible for God.
DANAS: 15. No motivi i razlozi bili su razlciti. Nisu bili ljudi tvrda i kamena srca. Gospodinova je parabola aktuelna i danas! Uzmimo ozbiljno njegove rijeci. Božanski sijac prolazi i mimo nas i ubacuje svoje sjeme.
