TODAY: 16th
Sunday of Ordinary Time: Jesus’ patience toward the enemies confused
many of the apostles. They would rather
call the fire from heaven so that God’s justice might destroy them. The Good Teacher was silent at these
challenges, patiently speaking to them.
He knew that time will heal many problems. In order to teach them what they should love (even their
enemies), He told them the parable about wheat and weeds. The whole world is God’s big and wide
field. Nobody can doubt that God’s seed
is good. Jesus knows that God’s enemy
--- the devil --- is at work. He comes
around during the night and sows weeds in God’s field which makes the wheat and
weeds grow together until harvest. Only
then will healthy wheat separate from the dangerous weeds which are to be
burned. God’s goodness and mercy are
immeasurable. God hates sin and every
evil, but He is merciful and gentle toward the sinful man. He does not want death of a sinner, but
wants the sinful man to be converted.
We humans have a short life on earth.
That is why we are impatient.
But God is patient and because of that He wants to give enough time to
every person so that they could be saved.
The final victory is on His side because everybody comes to Him.
DANAS: 16. Nedjelja Kroz Godinu: Isusova je
strpljivost prema neprijateljima upravo smucivala njegove
apostole. Oni bi najradije zazvali s
neba vatru da ih Božja pravednost uništi i na licu mjesta kazni. Dobri Ucitelj šuti na
njihove izatove, strpljivo s njima razgovara, poucava ih i pušta da
vrijeme donese svoje. No da ih još bolje
pouci ispripovjedio im je prispodobu o pšenici i
kukolju. Citav je svijet
velika i prostrana Božja njiva. Nitko
ne može ni posumnjati da Božje sjeme ne bi bilo dobro. No sad onaj koji poznaje sve tajne i konacni uzrok svega što se zbiva otkriva da je na djelu i
neprijatelj Božji davao. On dolazi po
noci, kradomice i usred Božje sjetve sije kukolj. I sad zajedno raste i pšenica i kukolj. Sve do žetve. Tek se tada odijeli zdravo žito od štetna kukolja koji se
spaljuje... Božja je dobrota i
milosrđe neizmjerno. Koliko god
Bog mrzi grijeh i svako zlo, prema covjeku grešniku je
milosrdan i blag.
