TODAY: 14th
Sunday of Ordinary Time: “I
give praise to You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have
hidden these things from the wise and the learned, you have revealed to the
little ones!” Jesus uses the hymn
which the three young men, singing to God and blessing the Lord while in the
flames in Babylon. (Dan 3). They too, even though weak and small, were opposed
to the wisdom and power of the learned and powerful King’s advisers. They conquered the fire and evil, because
God was with them. For them this
miraculous deliverance was the true revelation of God the King. Nebukonoser
himself realized that there is no other God but the one in Israel. If one
would readily accept Jesus Christ’s message he has to be “little”; he must be
of open spirit and humble heart. The
wise and learned of this world very easily become Victims of blind pride. They think that they know everything and
they cannot learn anything new, and that nobody can teach them anything. Just the opposite are those who consider
themselves poor, who have no infused knowledge and they accept Jesus’ message
as the truth which makes them free and which cleanses their hearts. They feel overjoyed when they learn that
they are not left on their own, left defenseless. God has a privileged place in His Heart for the “little
ones”. Whether rich or poor they are
happy that God calls them to hear His Word.
In Jesus’ school there is nothing reserved only for social and elite
groups. Jesus’ truth is a common good
for all humanity.

DANAS: 14.
suprotstavili mudrosti i sili ucenih i mocnih
kraljevskih savjetnika.
Mudri i umni ovoga svijeta vrlo lako
postaju žrtvom slijepe oholosti. Oni
dobro cijelog svijeta. |
