TODAY: 11TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME. Jesus was evangelizing in cities and villages.  He taught in synagogues, preaching about the Good News of His Kingdom. He cured all weaknesses and illness.  He was not preaching only in Galilee, but also in Palestine, bringing the Good News of Salvation to all.  His heart was full of love toward people and it was His heart’s desire to go out and preach.  Jesus’ heart was moved with pity for people because they were troubled and abandoned like sheep without a shepherd, or like harvest without harvesters (laborers).  But Jesus announced that the multitude will get its leaders, and the harvest will get its laborers.  They will not be a dispersed flock, but a chosen people who will be able to bear fruit of salvation.  Prophet Ezekiel had already announced: I will appoint one shepherd over them to pasture them, my servant David; He shall pasture them and be their shepherd.”   (Ez 34, 23).  These words referred to Jesus.  He Himself said that He is the Good Shepherd, and He entrusted His Shepherd’s duty to the Apostles.  Jesus said to Peter: “Feed my lambs, feed my sheep!”  This task was transferred to others to preach the same Good News of salvation to all nations throughout centuries.  The Jews were the first to hear the Good News but most closed their minds and hearts to it.  The same message preached to the Gentiles was accepted and yielded many fruits of the Spirit.

DANAS: 11. NEDJELJA KROZ GODINU. No nagovješta da ce mnoštvo dobiti vođe i žetva radnike. Svoju pastirsku službu povjerava svojim novoizabranim apostolima i ucenicima.  Sv. ce Petru izricito reci «Pasi jaganjce moje!...Pasite ovce moje!»
