TODAY, 12TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME: Today's Gospel talks about how Jesus calmed a violent squall and how the waves were breaking over the boat.  By doing that Jesus proved that He is in charge of everything ... all creation is listening to Him.  He has power over all evil forces which were ruling in the world –-- even those in human hearts.  However, only by faith can we recognize Him as the Son of God.  The Apostles had such faith only after Jesus' resurrection.  That's why Jesus reprimands the Apostles during the violent squall: «Why are you afraid?  Have you no faith?   Their faith was growing little by little and reached its culminaiton in His Resurrection.  The Resurrection will be Jesus' greatest triumph and greatest victory.  Then He will calm all the squalls and every fight against Himself and in the world.  The Gospel says that Jesus was silent.  He was not reacting even though He knew what is happening around Him.  He wanted the Apostles to feel His presence, and that by faith they are to accept His presence.  Maybe it was too early.  So many times we might have felt that God was silent or «sleeping» while the boat of the Church or history of the world is caught in horrible squalls.  At first we might feel that everything is lost, same as the Apostles were thinking.  One thing is not to be forgotten: God is here - - - He is in charge.  He is present even though it might seem that He is «sleeping».  When His moment comes He will react, and calmness will take place after His intervention.  This will testify that God is in charge of every human fate and of the whole history of mankind.

DANAS: 12. Time se On pokazuje kao vrhovni gospodar koga sluša sve stvorenje. Kako nemate vjere?»  Vjera u Gospodina u njima malo po malo raste i doživljuje svoj vrhunac Kristovim uskrsnućem.  Ono će biti Isusov najeveći trijumf i najveća pobjeda.  Tada će on stišati sve oluje i svaku pobunu protiv sebe i u svijetu. No možda je to bilo još prerano. . .
