TODAY, 13th IN ORDINARY TIME: Jesus was performing miracles in order to reward the faith that He found in people who asked Him for help. A woman afflicted with hemorrhages for twelve years approached Jesus with great faith and trust.  «If I but touch His clothes, I shall be cured.»  And the woman was not mistaken - - - Jesus cured her and praised her faith.  «Daughter, your faith has saved you.  Go in peace and be cured of your affliction.»  Jairus, a synagogue official, approached Jesus.  Seeing Jesus, he fell at His feet and pleaded earnestly with Him, saying: «My daughter is at the point of death.  Please come and lay your hands on her that she may get well and live.»  And when he heard that she had died, he did not lose his faith and trust in Jesus.  He believed that if He can cure the sick, Jesus can also bring the dead to life.  Others were saying to him not to bother the Teacher, but he was not discouraged.  Against all hope he still firmly believed.  That is why Jesus told him «do not be afraid; just have faith.»  Jesus said to those around Him: «The girl is asleep.»  Jesus took Peter, James and John to be witnesses of this great miracle.  With His almighty hand, He touched the girl and said the words: «Little girl, I say to you: arise!»  And the girl, one of twelve children, arose immediately and walked around.  Jesus brought back to life Jairus' daugher and his friend Lazarus, telling them that He awoke them from a sleep.  By doing this, Jesus announced what the Resurrection is about; that eveyr baptized person will be mystically united with Him.  «Aweake, o sleeper, and rise from the dea, and Christ shall give you light.»  (Eph. 5,14).  He who has a part in Christ will have a part in His life.  Our God is the God of the living, and God of life who has power over death.  He who believes and lives according to His Law can be sure of his own resurrection and eternal life with Christ.

DANAS: 13. U teškoj nevolji poput žene pada do Isusovih nogu i ponizno moli najprije ozdravljenje4 svoje kćeri. Pred Isusom i sama smrt nema vlasti.

MESSAGE FROM MEDJUGORJE JUNE 25, 2008

“Dear children!  Rejoice with me, convert in joy and give thanks to God for the gift of my presence among you.  Pray that, in your hearts, God may be in the center of your life and with your life witness, little children, so that every creature may feel God’s love.  Be my extended hands for every creature, so that it may draw closer to the God of love.  I bless you with my motherly blessing.  Thank you for having responded to my call.”  BVM

PORUKA, 25.  LIPNJA 2009

The year of the priest june 19, 2009 to june 19, 2010

As declared by Pope Benedict XVI, The Year of the Priest  will be a time to encourage “spiritual perfection”

among priests, as well as a time to support and thank them for their service to the church.

A Prayer for our priests

Almighty God, in Your love you bless Your Church with priests, a sign of Your faithfulness to Your people.

May our prayerful encouragement, during this year and years to come, help them remain faithful

to the calling they have received from You.  As they tend Your flock, grant them a caring heart.

In them may we know the voice of Christ, our Good Shepherd, who lives and reigns

with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.

Amen.
