TODAY: STS. PETER AND PAUL.  Peter comes forward as spokesman for all the disciples.  In the fifth century Pope Leo the Great cried out in faith: “ Peter’s profession of faith is present today; you are Christ, the son of the living God!”  How touched Jesus was.  In Peter’s voice He read a special love of His Heavenly Father.  Peter did not say it on his own.  God placed this Word in his mouth and heart.  Through his word he enlightened the hearts of other apostles.  Every Act of Faith is God’s work in us, which is God’s grace.  Each of us has to seal that faith with an act of witnessing love.  The faith expressed by mouth has to be confirmed by life.  Today we celebrate the witnessing of Peter and Paul for their faith.  They gave their lives for that faith.  By their own blood they signed their witnessing for Christ.  The Church received the beginning of her worship from the first apostles.  The apostles heroically realized Jesus’ words: “There is no greater love than this; to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”.  (John 15, 13).  This is the way God is to be loved – in a martyr’s way.

DANAS: BLAGDAN SVETOG PETRA I PAVLA.  Petar istupa kao glasnogovornik svih ucenika.

U svakom cinu vjere, klice u V. stoljecu sv. Petra i Pavla. Iv 15, 13).

  Tako se ljubi Bog, mucenicki.
