TODAY: PENTECOST. St. John in his Gospel mentions that the Holy Spirit descended
on the Apostles on the day of the Lord’s Resurrection, while St. Luke the
Evangelist places this event fifty days after Jesus’ Resurrection. John follows the Jewish tradition which says
a man will come who will cleanse people from the spirit of godless ways and
evil desires through the gift of the Holy Spirit. Christ the Lord continues the work of the Creator by giving the
Holy Spirit to His own. He gives the title of the Second Adam and becomes the
first one of all creation. The Apostles
will continue His work, to whom He will impart His Spirit and His power for the
forgiveness of sins. That’s the way He
not only instituted the Sacrament of Confession but also He made the Apostles
partakers of His victory over evil and sin. The Holy Spirit which enters our souls also makes the souls free
and sanctifies them, and makes us free
from slavery to satan and sin, and reconciles us with God. This will be the mission of the Apostles
throughout centuries to the end of the world.
God has entrusted to us the ministry of reconciliation through Christ. It is true that God, through Jesus, has
reconciled the world to Himself. Priests
perform this ministry in the name of Christ.
St. Paul said: “God has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and has given
us the ministry of reconciliation…not counting men’s transgressions against
them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us. This makes us ambassadors for Christ.” St. Paul also said: “In Christ’s name we implore you to be reconciled
to God.” (2 Cor 5, 18-21).
DANAS: BLAGDAN DUHOVA: Ivan u svom
bezbožnosti i zlih želja. Darom njegova
Duha nastat ce novo covjecanstvo. Stoga
Krist Gospodin udahnjujuci svojima Duha Svetoga nasljeduje djelo Stvoritelja,
stiče naslov drugog Adama i postaje prvijenac svih stvorenja. U posljednja će vremena Krist Gospodin
svojim Duhom ocistiti i posvetiti covjecanstvo. Njegovo će djelo nastavljati njegovi apostoli, kojima
podjeljuje svoga Duha i vlast opraštanja grijeha. Tako Gospodin ustanovljuje ne samo sakramenat sv. ispovijedi nego
ujedno i apostole cini dionicima njegove pobjede nad zlim i grijehom.
. . Mi vršimo službu poslanicku u ime
Krista --- kao da Bog opominje po nama.
U ime Krista molimo: Pomirite se s Bogom!” (2 Kor 5,18-21).
TODAY: Second collection is for the Church in Latin
America. Each year, the annual
Collection for the Church in Latin America is held in parishes across the
country. Proceeds from the collection

other Catholic institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean to assist in the
formation of priests, religious, lay ministers, missionaries, pastoral workers,

we contribute to this national Collection, we are actively living out our call
