TODAY, 4th SUNDAY OF EASTER: See, beloved, what love the Father has bestowed on us, that we may be called the children of God.  Yet so we are.  St. Paul the apostle said that the world around us couldn’t see in us the children of God, because the world does not know God.  But one day even this world will recognize God’s children: in the day of glory of God . . . on Judgment Day.  On that day the resemblance with God will be visible.  We will see God’s face in the world of glory; we will see the One whom we were looking at by faith, as in a mirror during our lifetime.  The world does not know us.  Isn’t this reason why we should try harder to witness for Christ, to be a sign by which the world will recognize that we are His?  The children of God, or the children of the Evil one can be seen in this: Whoever does not do justice and whoever does not love his brother is not of God.  Therefore, one has to do justice and has to love in order to belong to God.  Justice and love have to be recognized by our contemporaries and as a result it will be easier to get to know God the Lord.  What is asked of us is to be a sign and light to the descendants of Eve.

DANAS: 4. NEDJELJA PO USKRSU: «Gledajte koliku nam je ljubav darovao Otac: djeca se Božja zovemo, i jesmo!»  Apostol Sv. (10)  Treba dakle činiti djela pravednosti i ljubavi.  Neka ona budu vidljiva i jasno čitljiva našim suvremenicima.  Tada će i oni lakše upoznati Gospodina.  On nas se dakle traži da budemo znak i svjetlo ovom potomstvu Evinu.

of peace, which comes only from God.  Therefore, pray, pray, pray.  Thank you for having responded to my call.”

GOSPEL REFLECTION: (From Office of Family Life Ministries).  The gospel description of the Good Shepherd is a job description for parenting.  Parents must «know» their children and «freely lay down their lives» each day by sacrificing for their children.  Even when they don't want to listen, children must «hear our voice.»  Like Jesus, it is our job to «lead» our children to the Father.
