TODAY, PENTECOST SUNDAY: After Jesus was glorified by His Resurrection, He gave the Holy Spirit to His disciples.  There cannot be any evil where the Holy Spirit is present.  By giving the power to the apostles to transfer that Spirit, the Lord gave them the power to make a connection of love between God and the sinful human race.  He gave them the power to forgive sins.  The Holy Spirit is not only the power which speaks and works in man; the Holy Spirit delivers man from evil and sin with a greater power, and by His grace sanctifies him.  St. Paul aims at it when he writes: “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ. God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.  So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making His appeal through us.  We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”  (2 Cor. 5, 18-21).  The fruit of that reconciliation with God is peace and joy.  The apostles had a mission to bring peace to all with the help of the Holy Spirit . . . peace and joy of resurrection which they themselves felt.  That is why our Lord called the peacemakers blessed.  And with St. Peter we can say: “For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord, our God calls to Him.”  (Acts 2, 39).

DANAS: DUHOVI: Sad kad je On proslavljen svojim uskrsnućem, On dariva svojima Duha Svetoga. (Dj ap 2, 39).
