TODAY: SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER: “Father, I glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.”   These are the words that Jesus uttered at the Last Supper.  Jesus’ words can be applied to each of us: “The Hour has come that God the Father might be glorified through us.”   God created us for that purpose…to glorify Him in the greatest possible measure in our life.  Because Jesus called us into life, our life should be our return gift of love to our Creator.  God wanted to have His small heaven dwell in our souls since the day of Baptism.  This is why through His grace He found His dwelling place in us with His wonderful gifts and virtues.  And He never left us.  He walks through life with us and is the light on our paths.   He is directing us to the right paths of His law so that, through our consciences, we might not be lost and destroyed forever.  He loved us even when we stopped loving Him.  When evil drew us away form His paths, or led us to a wayward life, His white grace was irresistibly drawing us back to the abandoned Father, who forgives everything and always.  (Confession).

TODAY: The month of May is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus.

TODAY: Altar Society Sunday observed.  Members are encouraged to go to Confession and to receive Holy Communion.

TODAY: The May issue of WESTERN NEW YORK CATHOLIC  diocesan newspaper is available.

65th wedding anniversary on May 8th.  Our best wishes and congratulations to Jerry and Marge.

God bless you and your family.

NEXT WEEKEND: Second collection will be for the Church in Latin America.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES: Appeal 2008, the Bishop has declared May 17 and 18, 2008:

Catholic Charities Weekend.  Catholic Charities helped a local family meet the needs of their son, who was not receiving proper mental health treatment due to a lack of reliable transportation and difficulty making the right connection.  A social worker from Catholic Charities helped the parents understand how important it was for their son to get treatment, linked them to a different mental health provider and secured transportation for the appointments.  As a result, the son is receiving proper medication and doing much better both at school and at home.  This child, who previously had only limited success with other Preventive and Child Protective Services’ organizations, now leads a happier, more productive life.  Your support of Appeal 2008 changes lives!

DANAS: 7. I on nas više nikada nije napustio.

MONTH  OF  MAY

* * * Dedicated to the Most Beautiful Lady - Jesus' Mother * * *

* * * The Blessed Virgin Mary * * *

Pray the Rosary every day.  Her Son Jesus simply

cannot say NO to His Mother.  Our Lady will certainly

answer any of your requests.  Come to church every day

at 7:00 a.m. when we pray the Rosary before the 7:30 a.m.

Mass.  Or come on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m.

when we pray three mysteries of the Rosary.

The world is in grave danger.  Pray to the Blessed

Mother to  intercede  with her Divine Son and ask

the  Queen and Mother to gather us into the safety

of her Immaculate Loving Heart.   Surely the very

earnest  prayers of all  who pray  the Rosary with

attention,  reverence and  devotion  will bring yet

another victory unto the Glory of

God and the salvation of souls.
