TODAY: 27th SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME : Israel is compared to the Lord's vineyard.  Throughout history God sent prophets to His people.  They spoke in God's name and always reminded Israel about the Covenant they made with the Lord God.  But the prophets' fate was the same...some were stoned, others were killed.  This was known where many prophets were killed. The same fate was waiting for the greatest prophet who was the son of a domestic owner.  He was killed outside of the vineyard because he was to inherit everything.  Because of that the Lord's vineyard goes into the hands of a new God's people whom He has chosen and who want to obey God's will and His ordinances.  The CHURCH is God's chosen people, a «new people», which wants to bring fruits.  That is why the Church took over the role of the old Israel on the day of the Lord's resurrection, when the builders rejected the stone that became the «cap stone» of the structure.  Christ is in the heart of our history of salvation...not the killed Christ, but the Risen Christ who is always present in the midst of His people.  We belong to that people and this is why we have to bring fruits worthy of that belonging.  Only those who readily accept the fate of their Teacher, and follow Him faithfully, will bring fruits on all their paths.

DANAS: 27. «Povijest karakterizira velika pogibija proroka!» A upravo taj kamen postade kamen zaglavni. Tom narodu pripadamo i mi.
