TODAY: 23rd Sunday of Ordinary Time: Jesus is reminding us in today’s Gospel that we are responsible for our brothers, for those who are closest to us, and with whom we make one community.  “If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.”   If we act in this way it means that we love and that in life we have followed what the Apostle says in Romans: “Love never does anything wrong to the neighbor, hence love is the fulfillment of the Law”.   (Rom 13,10).  A Christian should take care even for the sins of his neighbor.  It is not alright for anyone (a Christian or the Church) to commit sins or to go astray.  So, out of pure love, a brotherly connection must take place by which the one who strayed should be brought back on the right path.  One or two others should be brought along so that every fact may be established on the testimony of two or three witnesses.  And if he refuses to listen even to the Church, then treat him as you would a gentile or a tax collector.  The Church is the community of brothers united by the Living Christ.

DANAS: 23. Ako i to ostane bez uspjeha, onda neka cijeli slučaj prepuste zajednici.

TODAY, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH

IS  GRANDPARENTS  DAY

Grandparents are God's gift to children.  Giving generously of themselves over the years, with hugs and words to ease young fears; telling lively stories that light up a child's face, living in faith while finding strength in God's grace; showing that each day is filled with love, grandparents are a gift from Heaven above.

It has been said that «It takes a whole village to raise a child.»  Grandparents come in all shapes and sizes.  Some are new grandparents for the first time; others are seasoned with the blessings of multiple grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.  Each child is truly a miracle AND grandparents provide a cherished legacy.  Some grandparents often come out of retirement to foster their grandchidlren often despite health and financial concerns of their own.  Others are present at every birthday celebration, school and sport event and so much more.  No matter where one is on the continuum, celebrating the giftedness of these womderful persons can be creative and lifegiving to one and all.  Grandparents are full of small lessons grandchildren are eager to learn.  In word and action, they teach with wisdom of life's experiences.  Most of all they teach grandchildren how important they are.  Please vist your grandparents today.  Or phone them just to talk.  Or E-mail the latest doing in the family.  Send notes.  And pray for them: Lord, bless our grandparents this day with all good things: health, joy, love and laughter.  Keep them in your care and protect them from all that is harmful.  Grant them peace and abundant grace all the days of their lives.  Amen.
