TODAY, FEAST OF PENTECOST: The Feast of Pentecost reminds us about the very significant reality of the early Church --- about the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  The First Reading talks about speaking different languages.  In the writings of St. Paul we find different visions, prophecies and the mention of miracles.  But we are to keep in mind that God’s basic gift is grace which is given through Jesus Christ, and enables us to do works of charity so that it may later blossom into life eternal.  Grace means charm, gentleness, attractiveness.  Because of different charisms we may say that the Church is charmed, attractive, sympathetic and which means her inner life is to be that way in which all God’s gifts to individuals are in service of the whole community.  The gifts of peace and forgiveness of sins are special gifts we are to nurture and develop in our daily lives.  The gifts of the Holy Spirit are the gifts of the Risen Lord to the Church.  The Risen Lord is making us fearless, brave, peaceful, and peacemakers.  Jesus empowered his apostles with the greatest gift of the Holy Spirit, that is, the forgiveness of sins.

Uskrsli nas ~ini neumi{tivima i smirenima i mirotvorcima.  Svoje u~enike uskrsli opunomo}uje najve}im darom Doha: opro{tenjem grijeha.

FEAST  OF  THE  VISITATION  OF  THE  BLESSED  VIRGIN  MARY  TO  ELIZABETH,   MAY 31   (THE  MAGNIFICAT)

THE CANTICLE

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has looked with favor on His lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is His Name.

He has mercy on those who fear Him in every generation.

He has shown the strength of His arm, He has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly.

He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of His servant Israel for He has remembered His promise of mercy, the promise He made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever. AMEN.

MESSAGE FROM MEDJUGORJE MAY 25: “Dear children!  Pray with me to the Holy Spirit for Him to lead you in the search of God’s will on the way of your holiness.  And you, who are far from prayer, convert and, in the silence of your heart, seek salvation for your soul and nurture it with prayer.  I bless you all individually with my motherly blessing.  Thank you for having responded to my call.” BVM
