The Resurrection

We hold so close to our hearts
The cross where Jesus died
But so much more than the blood-stained cross
Is that Jesus came back to life

The stone's been rolled away
The tomb lay open and bare
They looked for Him, and then the angel said
That He is no longer here

Oh what joy they must have felt
To see Him just once more
To eat with Him, to drink with Him
To receive Him back as Lord

So much did He accomplish
Through His death upon the cross
And in His rising from the dead
He reconciled us back to God

Nothing else could bridge the gap
That sin had wrenched apart
Now we can freely go to God
And receive Christ in our hearts

Your blood

Beautiful saviour and precious Lord
I thank you for your blood
That flowed that day at Calvary
A demonstration of your love

For no one has ever loved that much
For their life to be poured out
But you took upon your beaten body
The death sentence that was ours

We can never fully comprehend
All that you had to endure
You came a sinless sacrificial Lamb
And offered a life so pure

We read how you were so mistreated
Rejected with no mercy or love
But still you willingly laid down your life
And poured out your life’s blood

For it’s by your blood we can be healed
Forgiven and set free
It was necessary that you died for us
So we may have eternity

VIA DOLOROSA

Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The Soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see
The Man condemned to die on Calvary

He was bleeding from a beating
There were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns
Upon His head

And he bore with every step
The scorn of those who
Cried out for His death!

Down the Via Dolorosa
Called the Way of Suffering
Like a Lamb came The Messiah
Christ the King!

But He chose to walk that road
Out of His love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa
All the way to Calvary

He loved and died

When He was being beaten and spat upon
When His flesh was being torn by the whip
When His back was scourged,
Then He saw me being baptized
and so He permitted them to do so.

When the crown was crushed into His head
When He tasted His own blood
When the thorns pierced His flesh,
Then He saw me praying
and so He killed them not.

When His cross was so heavy that he fell
When He carried wood on His torn flesh
When He wished simply to move no more,
Then He saw me in confession,
and so He got up and walked on.

When His hands were being pierced
When He hung from a cross
When His side was bleeding,
Then He said I love YOU.
and so He died.

Jesus Loves us all so much

Jesus loves us all so much
That He would bleed and die
He took upon His beaten back
The cross that saw Him crucified

Yes He loved us all so much
That He was scorned and scoffed
He took it all upon Himself
For it was the will of God

God knew it was the only way
The final sacrifice
Jesus Christ a sinless man
Would need to give His life

And even in the gift He gave
We still have not yet known
The fullness of His mighty love
And the grace so freely shown

All He asks is that we all
Repent and follow Him
For He has made the way for us
Free from hurt and sin

Yes God loved us all so much
And yes He loves us still
He longs for us to trust in Him

And do the Fathers will

Na kraju puta I

U ocima tvojim, dubina je neba,
Što se glasi silnim uzdahom visine,
Dok samotno srce, ljubav tvoju treba,
Kad života sjena dušu mu ošine.

Prizivam ti ime, u svecanom casu,

Ostavljajuc’ traga, mjestu gorke suze,
U vremenu davnom, tvoje patnje odraz
Zbog kojeg te sada i moj bol obuze.

Vjetrovi mu pamuk razgrnuli dahom.

Uzbunjena plavet raskrilila dvjeri,
Dubinom se širi visina beskrajna,
Bezgranicni prostor, dušama se mjeri,
Njegova je ljubav neiscrpna, sjajna.

Ime mu je klicom i postankom svijeta,
S njegovom se žrtvom iskupiše grijesi,
Na nebu nas ceka cista duša, sveta,
Što u našem srcu luc svjetlosti krijesi.

Maknuo je kamen sa studenog groba,
Tijelo mu se krhko, u nebesa vinu,
Uništit' ga nije mogla ljudska zloba,
Zbog koje i danas... Negdje djeca ginu.

Uskrsnucem svojim otvori nam puta,
Vjecitom životu naših grešnih duša,
Da nijedna sama... U mrak ne zaluta,
Kad u smrtnom casu zov tišine sluša…
